“An invisible red thread connects those who

are destined to meet, regardless of time,

place, or circumstance. The thread may

stretch or tangle, but will never break.”

An ancient Chinese belief

Our family made the decision to adopt in June 2009. We pursued a special needs adoption, and we were blessed with a referral of the most beautiful girl on May 21, 2010. We originally started this website to fundraise for our adoption expenses by selling tutus and hair bows. Our fundraising efforts coupled with a grant from Lifesong for Orphans were a tremendous financial blessing. We traveled to China in late October 2010 to meet our daughter. Now, Emma Grace is home... forever.

We have PRE-APPROVAL!!!!!!

I am so relieved! Today, we got a notice from Betty that the CCAA granted our pre-approval. It was literally an answered prayer!

Last week, Betty called me (I always get nervous with a phone call, that means it is more important...) that the CCAA would not grant pre-approval without an updated home study. The last time our HS was done, I was pregnant with Timothy. The CCAA wanted to see that Timothy was indeed born and in our family and that all was well AND that we could handle another little critter around the house when Emma Grace got here. I was stressing out. We had a hard time getting in touch with our social worker, then they switched the social worker on us... then we had to set up an interview, they had to type the report, get it approved, send it to FTIA, translate it, send it to China.... as you can see, it was not a one day process. Rick and I were so worried that it would not be "speedy" enough for the CCAA. So, I did what any worried mother would do- I prayed all weekend. Every chance I got, I prayed that this process would speed up and that everything would be OK. Then, Monday morning I get the most wonderful email from Betty saying that they granted our pre-approval anyway ..... confirmation that God really does hear our prayers and that he is working hard to get this little girl home, for good.

Next step.... we wait for our Letter of Acceptance from the CCAA. They say this can take 3-4 months. Why don't we all pray that this comes quickly as well....
